The urban design strategy and masterplan for the centre of Pfäffikon is to allow the municipality of Pfäffikon to overcome the infrastructural barriers of the railway line, which separates the city from the lake side, and to improve its limited urban space qualities. The masterplan includes the creation of approximately 500 housing units and 20'000 sqm of office space.
